This report investigates the treatment of LGBTI refugees by NGO staff in various areas. The investigation reveals that more often than not, LGBTI refugees are discriminated against by staff and beneficiaries from those organisations. The report notes that while there are many organisations that work with and help refugees, most of them are not sensitive to the specific needs of LGBTI individuals. The report concludes by calling for education and sensitivity on the part of NGO staff, which will trickle down to beneficiaries. This, it is believed, will allow for LGBTI refugees to be able to come out and access services freely and without fear, as this is a major challenge at present.
