Being Straight and Being Gay: Identity or Multiple Desire – the Case of South Africa

This article looks at the constitutional advancements in South Africa around LGBTI rights, but notes that such reforms have done little to protect individuals from prejudice. The article looks at gender norms and community behaviours, as well as practices of men who have sex with men (men who often don’t identify as gay but engage in sexual relations with other men).
