Welcome to the multimedia section of Asiphephe. Here you will find a number of videos dealing with violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people.
Our short video tutorials will help you to understand hate crimes and hate speech. As well as information about the law and your rights, the tutorials provide guidance on what to do if you are a survivor of violence. The videos are currently available in English and South African Sign Language.
We have also included a selection of digital stories from the My Life, My Story, My Terms project. Developed by women from the Alexandra area of Johannesburg, these short videos explore issues of violence and discrimination, and reflect on the complex process of negotiating a black lesbian or bisexual identity.
We hope you find these videos helpful. If you require more information about these issues or need advice on finding support, then please visit the resource and database sections of the website.
